In-patient Care

Even if your loved one is being cared for at home, there may be times when he or she must be admitted to a hospital or skilled nursing facility. They may be admitted for pain or symptoms that are uncontrolled despite aggressive treatment efforts, or when their condition is unstable. Depending on the situation, a medical facility may be the only feasible setting.

Preferred Hospice will explain the options, arrange for inpatient care if deemed appropriate, and remain involved in the treatment of the patient. Regardless of the locale, we continue to work with families to provide the level of continued support and care needed.

Respite Care

Short-term respite care can be provided at a facility to allow the patient’s caregiver to rest or travel and be confident that their loved one will be cared for properly.

Spiritual and Psychosocial Care

Spiritual care and psychosocial care are both an important part of our hospice approach — the interdisciplinary, compassionate care services that support patients and families through their hospice journey. This form of support can help alleviate anxiety and depression to ensure that our clients and their families enjoy the highest possible quality of life as they navigate a life-limiting illness.
